5 Vital Questions Answered by the Bible

1. Who Is God?

Some say He doesn’t exist. Some say there are 3 gods in one. Others say all worship the same God, just with different names. The Bible answers:

How do we know He really exists? His existence can’t be denied. “God’s eternal power and Divine nature—are clearly seen, because they are understood through the things God has made.” Romans 1.20

How is He like? God, the Sovereign of the Universe, has 4 main attributes: Justice. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.” Psalm 97:2 Wisdom. “With God is wisdom and might.” Job 12:13 Power. “The Almighty… Great is His power.” Job 37:23 Love. “God is love.” 1 John 4:8

What is His Name? His sacred Name appears in the original Scriptures almost 7,000 times. Translated, His name means “I AM”. “Jehovah – this is My Name forever.” Exodus 3:14,15

Is He the same for all, just worshipped differently? There is only 1 true God. “The Lord our God is one Lord.” Deuteronomy 6:4. He requires exclusive worship. “Have no other gods than Me.” Exodus 20:3 I am Jehovah, that is My Name; and My glory will I not give to another.” Isaiah 42:8

What is His purpose with us? The plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, are for well-being, and not for calamity, in order to give you a future and a hope.Jeremiah 29.11

“You, JEHOVAH, are the Most High over all the earth”

2. Who is Jesus?

Some say He is God. Some, a great philosopher. Others say He never lived. The Bible answers:

Who is He? Jesus is God’s first creation. “God made me the first of His works.” Proverbs 8.22 [I am] the beginning of the creation of God.” Revelation 3:14 God then used Him for all other works of creation. “All things were made through Him.” John 1.3

Why is He called the “Savior”? Because He left His spiritual condition to come to Earth as a man, to offer His life as the ransom price for the sins of those who believe in Him, thus opening the way for them to live forever. “The Son of man came to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20.28

Is Jesus God? No. Jesus has always been and will always be submissive to God. While on Earth, He said: “I have come down from heaven not to do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6.38 “My Father is greater than I.” John 14.28

Although some may argue this was just while on Earth, the Bible clearly shows that even in the end, in full glory, Jesus will continue to worship God. “When all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” 1 Corinthians 15.28

Why follow His words? Because He is our only channel to God. “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2.5 And “there is no other name under the heaven given among men, in which we can be saved.” Acts 4:12

“I am the way, the truth, and the life”

3. What real hope is there?

Some say it’s going to heaven when we die. Some put their hopes in the leaders of this world, while others have no future hope. The Bible’s answer:

Is there any real hope? Yes. God will give mankind a new beginning. “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; it shall stand forever.” Daniel 2.44

What about our abused planet? “The Earth abides forever.” Ecclesiastes 1.4 There will be a complete restoration. “Wilderness will blossom like a rose.” Isaiah chapter 35

How will life be? Our Creator promises to put an end to all pain and bless all people who will then live. “Everyone will live in peace and prosperity, enjoying their own grapevines and fig trees, for there will be nothing to fear.” Micah 4.1-4

What about dead ones? God’s promise is clear: “All who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.” John 5.28, 29

How to gain this hope? By faith, which comes by knowledge. “If we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1.7 Study and apply God’s Word in your daily life. “For those who follow it, the reward is great.” Psalm 19.11

“And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life”

4. What is Armageddon?

Some say it’s the complete annihilation of mankind. Others say it’s the destruction of our planet. The Bible answers:

What is it? Armageddon is the final step in the transition from an old, evil, cursed world, to a new, blessed, prosperous world. It is the last war mankind will ever experience. “Come, behold the works of Jehovah, what desolations He has made in the earth. He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth.” Psalm 46.8,9

Why is it necessary and what will be the outcome? Because “the god of this world” 2 Corinthians 4.4, Satan, and his demons, will not renounce their positions voluntarily, God’s spiritual armies will use force to destroy them and thus restore peace on Earth. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan.” Romans 16.20

Is it just between spiritual creatures? No. All those who deny God will also lose their lives. “Those killed by the LORD on that day will extend from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned over, gathered up, or buried. Jeremiah 25.31-33

What about eternal torment? Such place would not be in harmony with God’s wisdom, justice and love. “The punishment for sin is death.” Romans 6.23

When will it hit? In Matthew chapter 24, Jesus gave the signs of the end, which are all fulfilling to a greater extent than ever before. Then, it will come when nobody expects it. “The day of the Lord will come like a thief.” 2 Peter 3.10

How to escape it? Just like Noah and his family, those who keep God’s laws, will survive. God wants us to be among them. “I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!“ Ezekiel 18.32

“Look, I make all things new”

5. Can You Trust the Bible?

Some say it’s just a fairy tale, some say it teaches good principles, but nothing more. Others use it as their guide in life.

What is the Bible? A collection of 66 Divinely inspired books, the most widespread book in human history, both in terms of number of copies and languages translated in. “All Scripture is inspired of God and useful.” 2 Timothy 3:16,17

Who ordered it? God said: “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21.5

Who wrote it? Faithful men were chosen to express in words the message received from God. “Men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1.21 Many wrote what they themselves eye-witnessed, to help others believe, too. “What we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes and touched with our own hands – this we proclaim.” 1 John 1.1

How do we know it’s inspired? There are hundreds of prophecies in the Scriptures. Many have already fulfilled, proving their Divine inspiration. Isaiah 46.10,11 A clear example among many is Isaiah chapter 53 – written 800 years before, it foretold in detail what would happen to Jesus, the Messiah.

Why was it written? To give guidance and purpose in life together with a great hope. Your Word is a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 Therefore, invest time to study “the Holy Scriptures, which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation.“ 2 Timothy 3.15

“Search the Scriptures…in them you have eternal life”
